This guitar was purchased new in 2009 from Buffalo Bros Guitars in Carlsbad, CA. I tried it out Collings, Santa Cruz, Goodalls and more and this guitar beat them all out in terms of sound and playability in my opinion. The guitar is a Martin 175th anniversary model and I think they put extra special love and attention into the guitar. It has that great, warm sound you can expect from a Martin, but it is wonderfully balanced as well. Big, punchy bass without the muddy boom that a lot of Martins have. As such, it makes a fabulous flatpicking and strumming guitar but it also functions very nicely as a fingerstyle instrument with sparkly, well-defined highs. Great for trad music! I had a Baggs Element pickup installed which has a small gain wheel mounted just inside the sound hole. The guitar was bought to be a good sounding, rugged tour guitar. As such, it has a few small nicks, dents and wear here and there, but frankly, I have seen worse being sold for brand-new at Guitar Center. I also replaced the cheesy black plastic pickguard with a smaller, unobtrusive clear pickguard, which I think shows off the top better and looks more organic. In the picture featuring the back of the instrument I know it looks like massive finish wear, but it is actually just the reflection of a chair and a window with white blinds in the back of the guitar. All in all, this Martin is in fantastic shape and the sound and setup are even better. I hate to see it go, but I need the money and it needs to be played and enjoyed. Comes with the original case (the airlines put some wear and a few small dings and cracks into it, but it still functions and protects. It got banged up, the guitar didn't), as well as the original Martin warranty documents (I never filled them out, you can). Asking $1750 + shipping. PM me or e-mail me at zacleger@gmail.com.
